From 13-16 April, the INTERPOL WORLD 2015 conference took place in Singapore. CORE was invited to present its vision during the plenary programme. We took this opportunity to also organize a number of parallel dissemination activities. Gerwin Zomer from TNO and Maarten Sintemaartensdijk from Dutch Customs represented CORE.
With the help of the Dutch Embassy and its Customs Attache, we also organized two CORE workshops. In one high level session, the Dutch Ambassador, the honorary Mr. Werner invited a number of key stakeholders from INTERPOL, Singapore Customs, Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs, IATA Singapore, Singapore Port Authority and Singapore Logistics Association. This session resulted in some interesting eye openers during the discussion on an integer and safe supply chain.
Gerwin Zomer gave a keynote speech and answered questions from these High Level representatives. After this session, we played the Chain Game with representatives of these organisations and a number of other invitees. This serious game was developed in CASSANDRA and raises awareness for the relevance of the key innovation agendas in CORE and is an excellent instrument for stakeholder engagement to the CORE innovation agenda.
Another workshop was organised by CORE in collaboration with IATA Singapore to discuss the CORE ambition and agenda with relevant stakeholders from the air cargo community in Singapore: carriers, ground handling agents, freight forwarders, logistics association, and Singapore Customs officials. During this event, we exchanged ideas and explored opportunities to engage these stakeholders more actively, for instance in the ambitions of the Schiphol demonstration.
Finally, we disseminated CORE on the exhibition, where TNO had a joint stand with some other Dutch organisations. During the INTERPOL World event, a Collaboration Agreement has been signed between TNO and INTERPOL on Cyber Security and a MoU has been signed with Nanyang Technical University. Since cyber security is also a relevant research topic in CORE, we will explore how CORE can further benefit from this collaboration.
