Start Date: 21 June 2016
End Date: 21 June 2016
The CORE project (www.coreproject.eu) will demonstrate how a powerful and innovative Consistently Optimised REsilient ecosystem implementation, integrating interoperability, security, resilience and real-time optimisation can produce cost effective, fast and robust solutions. These will guarantee the efficient and secure transit of goods through the worldwide global supply chain system.
This EU-funded research project has over 50 partners from academia, research institutes, businesses and governments, that - according the overall Core-innovation agenda - mainly focus on so-called demonstrators to prove the benefits for trade and government of the Datapipeline concept.
The CORE project is halfway through its course and steering towards the demonstration of, both integrity of data, and security of goods. To meet these terms, several trade lane demonstrators are being, or have been started, involving logistical service providers, transporters, as well as end-to-end business parties.
Some parties are working on a breakthrough in this project, by building the Shipping Information Pipeline, which enables all parties in the trade lane to exchange confidential information on supply chain events, and, at the same time, prove the continuous integrity of containers and goods throughout the total shipment. This is a very promising development in the Core project, as it’s building of The Internet for Logistics – an open platform for sharing data and documents – with online open access for SME’s as well as B-to-B connectivity with other supply chains and in-house systems, serving all parties in supply chains, without demanding contracting or sub contracting to any other party that may be involved. Therefore this may be considered as one of the most advanced evolutions in the datapipeline concept.
During this session we would like to take you along in the developments of this open datapipeline platform. We will share our thoughts, we would like to discuss possible needs and wishes of end-users, but above all, we would like to share this with policy makers, public officials and parties that work on improving supply chains from an independent perspective. So the session will focus on sharing what business is doing and to receive input, to build the system in a way it can serve trade optimization as well as government procedures and controls.
This afternoon session is organized by the Customs Administration of The Netherlands, jointly with Maersk and Technical University Delft, all partners in the Core project. The venue is offered by Rotterdam School of Management.
